Week 1 - All is Well

All is going very well as baby Jonny comes upon his second week. He has been nursing wonderfully, and sleeps like a rock between feedings. A couple of nights he has been cranky -- we think it is because he had some gas. He also gets hiccups at least once a day.

While he can't understand what we're saying yet, and he doesn't respond in any way, we can tell he recognizes our voices. Often when we talk to him, the pace of his ta-ta sucking increases, and his eyes light up. It's really quite cute. He likes to be held tightly like he was in the womb. Last night he fell asleep in my lap -- I was holding him pretty snugly with his neck crooked to the side. If I fell asleep like that I would have a pretty sore neck the next day. He loves it.

Jonny loves to lay in the sun. It's quickly becoming a morning favorite. We also made our first road trip to the lake and indulged in some sweetness. (Of course I'm talking about snuggling with the cute addition to the family -- not the sweets from the bakery which we ate.) Truly this is a very special time in our lives...
