We arrived at the hospital at about noon, already 7 cm dialated! We were blessed to get a wonderful nurse named Nikki. She was very patient and helpful, and took plenty of time with us. After the baby was born, we found out that it was also her birthday!
Mim's mom, Sue, was there every step of the way. Another big blessing to have all the help and support for Mim during labor.
The smiles lasted surprizingly long! It wasn't until the last hour or so that it became incredibly difficult. Mim did such an amazing job.
The baby came head-first as expected, but he also had his hand up by his face. This caused increased pain and complications, causing some damage to Mim's tissues.
At 6:53 pm Jireh Nathaniel was born at 7 lbs, 11 oz. He cried right away, and was very active. Mim was able to hold him for a short time before they completed the procedures.

We believe he has Mim's nose, but JJ's ears. He is very healthy, and latched on to mom within seconds. No messing around when it comes to food. That's my kid!
Here is a picture with our doula Heather, who was also such a blessing! She was very knowlegeable and helpful throughout the day, and helped to keep things going as Mim wanted.
