Jonny has had a big month! It started off with Grampa B visiting, and that was a blast. You can see Jonny's excitement in some of the photos when he's with Grampa. He has started talking to us, but only knows one word so far ("Coo")... but he means it in many different ways! He has also started smiling and reacting to us. It is the most amazing thing mom and dad have experienced so far. He doesn't smile all the time, but if you catch him when he wakes up in the morning, or if one of us has been gone for a little while and comes back, he'll usually be excited for a few minutes.
He is also growing, and seems like he is going to be tall. He has long fingers and feet, and a long torso. We keep waiting for him to "chub up" before a growth spirt, but he doesn't. He still grows in spurts, just without gaining baby fat. Since he started off quite a bit under weight, he is still playing catch up with his size. We haven't weighed him in a couple of weeks, but we're guessing he is around or above 8 lbs.
Mom and dad are doing well, and just love having this treasure in our lives. We still don't get as much sleep as we should be getting, but he is beginning to sleep longer stretches at night. Lately, he has been waking us up once in the middle of the night to eat, and then again just before our alarm clock goes off. That's not too bad!
